Our First Day in Paris

I spent time this past weekend downloading photos from my trip to France.  All 3,554 of them.  Here's a few from our first day, after we arrived early in the morning and were driven into the city by the kindly Amadeus.  It was too early to check into our accommodations but we were able to leave our bags and set off to explore the city.  This pretty street was one of the first things we saw, on the next block:

First things first, breakfast!  At a sidewalk cafe, with fresh bagettes and chocolate croissants.  Pourquoi pas?

Followed by a trip on the Metro.

You know there is magic about on the Paris subway, you can tell by the fairy wings.

A visit to the flea market at Porte de Montreuil.

The booths with "brocante" items were few and far between but we did find them.

Here are a few of the vintage paper treasures I found that first day:

Back to our accommodations to settle in, followed by a delicious meal at the restaurant on the corner - beouf bourgignon and a selection of delicious desserts:

and of course, the requisite toast to celebrate our first day

in the city of Paris.
